The Heaven Can Wait Charity Sailing Regatta will be held this coming weekend – November 16 and 17 on beautiful Lake Macquarie, organised and run by the Royal Motor Yacht Club Toronto. The regatta is traditionally preceded by a fund raising dinner at the club and this year is no exception. This year – as in the past, our guest list features an amazing line-up of sailing talent....

Heaven Can Wait fundraising approaches $30,000

Just on $30,000 has been raised by sailors and supporters participating in the Heaven Can Wait Yacht Regatta, held on Lake Macquarie (south of Newcastle) on September 29-30. The race, which is held to raise funds for men's cancer research and support projects, includes the challenging Heaven Can Wait 24 Hour Yacht Race, as well as a 12 Hour option and a 'One Lap Dash' around the 30 Nm course....

After three tough years in the Heaven Can Wait series, the weather gods smiled on the 2012 Heaven Can Wait race.
On Saturday morning just a few minutes before the 11am start, the north westerly hit the fleet; winds went from 10 knots to 25 in a flash. It was a roaring down wind start, with kites, foiling moths and sports boats dominating....

The seventh annual Heaven Can Wait regatta started at 11am this morning and the weather was wild to say the least, with gusts of 35 knots reported as some stages.
Three races ran in conjunction, the iconic 24 Hour Race, the One Lap Dash around the full 30 Nm course, and a new 12 Hour Challenge, with participants able to compete in any or all of the three events....

Paul David, a long-time contributor to and supporter of trailer-sailer community website and resource trailersailerplace.com.au (TSP) recently passed away after a battle with cancer.
During Paul's illness, fellow TSP participant Simon Rock had offered Paul a week's free use of his Whitsundays charter Catalina 320 Rockstar – but sadly Paul was unable to take advantage of this offer before he died...

The newly crowned Moth World Champion Josh McKnight will be racing his Flying Hellfish powered by Easy Tiger Racing in the One Lap Dash in the seventh annual Heaven Can Wait regatta.

Four weeks out from the start of the seventh Heaven Can Wait Charity Yacht Regatta, to be held on Lake Macquarie on September 29 and 30, entries are starting to flow in fast.
Already 16 boats have entered, representing a range of classes and types - with significantly more expected by the time the event starts at 1100 on Saturday September 29 - a long weekend in NSW....
