ISAF Sailing World Cup - World’s best kiteboarders to compete
Mon, 18 Nov 2013

Melbourne is set to host some of the world’s best course racing kiteboarders from seventh to eighth December, 2013 at Sandringham Yacht Club as part of the ISAF Sailing World Cup.

The ISAF Sailing World Cup – Melbourne continues to embrace the high speed action of the growing kiteracing scene, with kiteboarding returning to the event as part of the Sail Melbourne Invited Class Program.

Since entries opened in August, the ISAF Sailing World Cup – Melbourne has attracted competitors from Australia and around the world including last year’s gold medal winner, Florian Gruber from Germany, who will return to contest his title.

Both Men’s and Women’s kiteboarding events will be hosted at Hampton Beach on Port Phillip, close to the host venue Sandringham Yacht Club.

The close-to-shore action will be sure to thrill crowds, with Port Phillip providing ideal wind conditions along a world class stretch of water.

The category of equipment for this year’s event will follow the IKA Class Rules 2013 and will be open to competitors of all ages and abilities, giving young up-and-coming kiteboarders the chance to compete against some of the best in the world.

Entries for kiteboarding at the ISAF Sailing World Cup – Melbourne close November 26, 2013.
