Operate boats with extreme caution near Dangar Island
Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Roads and Maritime Services are advising vessel operators to operate boats with extreme caution near the north east corner of Dangar Island through to Little Wobby Beach on the Hawkesbury River from tomorrow due to cable work.

Work to lay and bury a submarine telecommunications cable will be carried out by Telstra between sunrise and sunset, seven days per week.

A 10 metre barge using divers and support vessels will carry out the work. ‘No anchoring’ signs and yellow flashing lights will be deployed at 250 metre intervals across the waterway from the north east corner of Dangar Island to Little Wobby Beach. Work is expected to be completed by the end of March, weather permitting.
