2012 Latitude Series

Bass Strait
Sat, 11 Feb 2012 at 08:30 to Sun, 12 Feb 2012

The Latitude Series is a combination of mentoring, lecturing and racing designed to get interested skippers and crews out in the ocean for the first time. The Bass Strait race takes the crews to a designated latitude for their specific boat (and how the series gets its name) where they turn and come back into Port Phillip. The first boat home is the winner. Faster boats travel further and slower ones cover less distance in to Bass Strait. Nocvie skippers will have a volunteer ORCV check skipper with them to assist in decision making and provide invaluable knowledge to make the novice feel well at ease. On the Sunday, the boats have a pursuit race back to town.
